Rialin José
Rialin José (pronounced RY-lin ho-ZAY) is a Chicago-based filmmaker and illustrator. In 2018, Rialin graduated from Columbia College Chicago, where she received a BA in Cinema Art + Science. Rialin’s film work primarily highlights her Filipino-American experience, whereas her illustrations capture the vibrancy of Philippine everyday life. As a multimedia artist, she has been published in The Lab Review and Hair Trigger, and her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions. Most recently, her illustration, Susmaryosep Express, was featured in the 2019 Filipino-American History Month Show at Zhou B Art Center in Chicago. Her short film, ANAK NA AMERIKANA (2019), was featured in the SYNERGY: From Manila to Acapulco Exhibition, in the same venue.
