Born in Taiwan and coming to the U.S. in her teenage years, both heritages shaped her to be who she is today. Like many Asian families, parents prefer their children to become professionals such as doctors, lawyers, or engineers, and not “hungry artists”. Like her talented father, she contained her love for art as a hobby and abandoned it completely after the start of her career in the business world. She “rediscovered” art when she started to think about her next phase in life. After taking classes sporadically in local art centers, she realized her love for drawing and painting was not a passing fever, and wanted to devote more time to become a serious artist. Now working primarily with oil, she is discovering excitement and challenges in art every day. She is a Chicago artist, and lives, works, and creates arts in the city she loves.
