Part of the Longform Mobile Photography Project

It’s not the tool; it’s the artist. From 2014-2021, Jenny Lam captured photos using only her iPhone 5s. She demonstrates that you don’t need fancy equipment—not even a tripod—to take beautiful photos.

Much of this longform project served as a photographic love letter to Chicago, featuring photographs she took around our wonderful city throughout the past decade. On the Boardwalk—shot on a perfect fall day—is one of the very first images from this enterprise.
